Prior to the install of my CNL104 hydrant i disassembled the hydrant as if I was replacing the plunger. Upon removing the rod and plunger i felt quite a few rough areas inside the 1” pipe.Peering into the pipe i saw a lot of slag and some very sharp protrusions all along the seam of the pipe. Not good for a plunger going in or out for future service if and when required. I feel the debris should be removed at the factory prior to assembly. I hope I’m proven wrong but it seems like a quality control issue. By the way I am still pleased with my two other Merrill AnyFlow hydrants that are over 25 years old.
